Robert “Bob” G. Tonn, 71, of Menominee Falls died unexpectedly of an aneurism at his summer home in Green Lake on July 18th, 2016. He was born in Dotyville on May 20, 1945, the son of Lawrence and Deloris Wettstein Tonn.
He graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy in 1963. After graduation he completed an auto mechanics course at MPTC. He married Carol Grebe on Sept. 5, 1964 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.
Bob worked at Giddings & Lewis, Milwaukee Labor Hall, Mercury Marine and retired from Harley Davidson. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, motorcycle riding and spending time with his family at the Green Lake cottage. Bob was always fixing and helping others-he was a brilliant trouble shooter. He could play the accordion by ear, but his greatest pleasure was joining his Savior in Heaven.
Survivors include his beloved wife Carol-whom he shared 51 years of blessed marriage, two daughters: Julie (Pastor Brett) Schlobohm of Branson, MO and Ann (David) Haasis of Menominee falls, three grandchildren: Ciarra Schlobohm, Noah and Caleb Haasis, two brothers: Kenneth (Susan) Tonn of Omaha, NE and Francis (Debbie) Tonn of Sioux City, IA and two sisters: Patricia Janzen and Jean Liedke both of Fond du Lac, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services with be held on Monday July 25th at 5:30 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac, with burial at Estabrooks Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Visitation will be Monday July 25th from 3:00 to 5:30 PM. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
