Toy drive on December 12, 2021, to celebrate memory of Jackson girl, Jocelyn Hampel | By Officer Jennifer Gerke

Jackson, WI – Many of you have heard about Jocelyn Hampel’s story – the sweet little girl that passed away in January after complications during a dental procedure.

Jocelyn has been part of the Jackson Police Department (JPD) Facebook family for a while now. A picture of her and her sister Tenley is one of our most “liked” photos ever on Facebook.
Back in July 2019, we posted the pic of Officer Henning with the girls. Officer Henning responded to their house for a rescue call for their little brother. Grandma was on her way to watch the girls because Mom had gone to the hospital with him. Officer Henning volunteered to hang out with the girls until Grandma could get there. The girls had so much fun throwing a stuffed alligator across the living room with Officer Henning (see photo above). Their laughter was contagious.
The next picture is of Jocelyn, Tenley, and their Dad after they built a snowman for our First Annual Snowman Competition.
Unfortunately, Jocelyn passed away before being able to make her snowman last winter.
Christmas was Jocelyn’s favorite time of the year and her birthday is in December. She loved all the lights and decorations. Her family is using the holiday to give back amid their grief, collecting toys for kids at Children’s Hospital.
There are several ways that you can help celebrate Jocelyn’s memory and help the kids at Children’s:
You can celebrate Jocelyn’s birthday on December 12, 2021, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. by bringing toy donations to W202N17298 Oakwood Dr, Jackson, WI. The family will be hosting a drive-thru toy donation event.
If you’re worried about feeling weird going to the family’s house, you could make the Amazon delivery person do it for you instead.😆 Just ship the package to:
Jocelyn Hampel
W202N17298 Oakwood Dr
Jackson, Wi 53037
The Hampel’s are hoping strangers will donate toys in Jocelyn’s honor but we have faith that the extended JPD family can help make this holiday season a little brighter for her family.
