November 23, 2021 – Hartford, WI – Peter “Pete” R. Potkay passed away on November 22, 2021, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee at the age of 56.
Pete is the beloved husband of Kari (nee Cornell). Loving father of Rebecca and Peter. Cherished brother of Gary (Elizabeth Irko) Potkay, Dan Potkay, Steve Potkay, Jean Potkay, Ellen (Mike) Domaschofsky and Mary (David) Altman. Also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends who he also considered family.
Pete was born on December 4, 1964, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Peter and Regina Potkay. After graduation from high school, Pete went on to join the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for four years while serving in Operation Desert Storm.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed hunting both deer and pheasant, fishing, bull riding, adventure and travel and most importantly spending time and laughing with his family and friends. His love for his Irish heritage involved learning about his genealogy.
A memorial visitation will take place at Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, Wisconsin on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m.
