November 2, 2021 – West Bend, Wi – West Bend Police Chief Ken Meuler is retiring. Meuler made the announced to staff Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 2, 2021.
Meuler’s last day will be Friday, January 7, 2022.
In an email Meuler said, “It has been a privilege and an honor to serve the citizens of West Bend and to work with each of you and the many elected and appointed officials in the City for the past 19 years. I look forward to continuing to work with you until I leave January 7, 2022.”
Meuler came to West Bend following a 28-year career with the Milwaukee Police Department. He replaced Lloyd “Whitey” Uelmen after he retired as Chief of Police in 2003.
Meuler is the second department head in the last two weeks to announce he’s leaving the City. On Thursday, October 28, 2021 WashingtonCountyInsider.com first reported City Clerk Stephanie Justmann was leaving for a position in neighboring Dodge County.
