November 2, 2021 – West Bend, WI – Reconstruction of Seventh Avenue in West Bend between Walnut Street and Highway 33 is a couple weeks behind schedule.
The project which started July 6, 2021 included replacement of water main, storm sewer and sanitary sewer. Sidewalk, curb and gutter will also be included in the project.
The cost will be north of $1.5 million.
The original target completion date was the end of October however there were issues with the sanitary and more work was needed than planned.
According to City Engineer Max Marechal:
Nov. 1 – 5 work will be completed in front of the fire station and at the intersections of Cedar, Elm, and Hickory.
Nov. 3 – 4 the sidewalks and aprons will be formed and Friday, Nov. 5 those sections will be poured along with the median in front of the fire department. Also Thursday there will be a fine grade between the concrete and the existing asphalt. On Friday the intersections will be completed.
At the end of the week, Nov. 6 all the concrete should be finished.
Nov. 8 – 11 restoration will be completed with grading, seeding and matting and pavement markings will be put down Thursday, November 11.
Seventh Avenue is expected to reopen November 12.
