Hartford, WI – The Hartford Rotary Club and Hartford Union High School are pleased to announce Connor Martin and Maddy Mudra were honored recently as Rotary Students of the Month.  The students were given special recognition for their accomplishments at the Hartford Rotary Club’s Thursday noon meetings during the month of October.

Outside of school, Martin enjoys performing and touring with Kids From Wisconsin during the summer.  He has performed professionally at The Fireside Dinner Theatre, The Palace Theater in the Dells, Capital City Theatre, and Lees McRae Summer Theatre in North Carolina.

Martin has given back to his community by hand making blankets for children in need with Project Linus, running activities at Ozzy Fest, cheering on participants at the Shamrock Shuffle, organizing blood drives, teaching at Realize Your Dream Outreach sessions with Kids From Wisconsin, and fundraising for the United Way’s area school dance. After high school Martin plans to earn a BFA in musical theatre.

Maddy Mudra is the daughter of Sue and Scott Mudra.  Mudra is a member of the Varsity Girls Tennis Team, the Varsity Track and Field Team, the Math Club, Student Council, H-Club, and the National Honor Society at HUHS.  She also participated in Gymnastics during her freshman year. Mudra served as Captain of the Varsity Girls Tennis Team this past season.

Mudra has given back to the community by volunteering her time through Student Council and H-Club making care packages for Support the Troops, timing races for middle school track meets, helping organize and run the Shamrock Shuffle, painting windows downtown for Homecoming week, running stations for Ozzy Fest, ringing bells at Christmas time for the Salvation Army, and helping with her local church’s Chili Social.

After graduation from HUHS, Mudra plans to attend a 4-year university (possibly Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, or UW-La Crosse) to pursue a degree in biomedical sciences.
