September 6, 2021 – Kohlsville, WI – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of CTH WW and CTH D in Kohlsville early Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021 at 1:51 a.m. for a report of a man threatening someone with a gun.
The uninvolved caller reported a man exited a van and pulled a handgun on another subject who was also in the same vehicle. This occurred directly in the intersection. The vehicle then left the area.
A responding deputy located the vehicle on CTH WW and attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of I41 and Wildlife Road. The van failed to stop and the deputy started a pursuit that reached speeds of nearly 100 mph.
Another deputy deployed a tire deflation device in the area of I41 and Western Avenue. The vehicle exited on Pioneer Road and crashed. Two of the occupants fled on foot while one remained in the vehicle.
All occupants were taken into custody with the assistance of the Germantown and Slinger Police Departments and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
One passenger, a 20-year-old female from Toledo, OH, was taken into custody for CCW. She had an electric weapon concealed on her person. The driver, a 31-year-old City of Milwaukee man, was taken into custody for felony eluding.
The rear passenger, a 37-year-old City of Milwaukee man, was taken into custody for CCW and felon in possession of a firearm. The circumstances surrounding the events remain under investigation and all three individuals remain in custody in the Washington County Jail.
“While most of us were relaxing on this holiday weekend with friends and family, public safety remained vigilant protecting and assisting our citizens throughout all hours of the day,” said Washington County Sheriff Martin R. Schulteis.
