August 31, 2021 – West Bend, WI – The latest sign of progress during the renovation at Carl M. Kuss Memorial Field in West Bend is the addition of some green. West Bend Elevator donated grass seed and contractors sprayed it in place.
“It’s 80 percent bluegrass and 20 percent rye for the area outside the fencing,” said Doug Gonring with the West Bend Baseball Association and West Bend Elevator.
The outfield was hydroseeded and that’s a mix with a foam and helps with the germination process.

Gonring said the grass should start coming up in 7 to 10 days from the initial seeding. Keep an eye open right around Labor Day.
