August 23, 2021 – Kewaskum, WI – The Kewaskum School Board selected Bradley A. Petersen to fill an open seat on the board.
After nearly 40 minutes of discussion where Petersen received the most “points” for recommendation followed by candidate Nate Weseman who received the second most points.
Board member Sue Miller made the motion to appoint Pedersen. Board member Tim Ramthun offered a second on the motion. No other recommendations were made and the board passed the head nod to Petersen by a unanimous public vote of 6 – 0.
Eleven candidates filed paperwork to fill the open seat.
The Kewaskum School Board interviewed the candidates during its August 4 Board of Education Special Meeting.
The action fills the seat left vacant by former board member Doug Gonring.
In his application letter Petersen said if selected, his top 3 priorities would be 1. Curriculum 2. Student involvement in the community and 3. Fiscal responsibility.
According to Mark Bazala, District Administrator, the board vacancy will be discussed tonight at the Board of Education Meeting. A vote is expected to be taken to fill the empty seat.
