According to the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department (WRPD): The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department needs your help. On August 4, 2021, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was investigating a possible child neglect/abuse case and was attempting to check the wellbeing of a 2-month-old child.

Officers attempted to contact the child’s mother, Haley N. Pelot, however, she spotted our officers and entered as a passenger into a vehicle with a male driver. The male driver drove off and when officers attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle continued and fled.

A vehicle pursuit began and eventually exited the city of Wisconsin Rapids. When it was determined the possibility that the child could be in the vehicle, and in the interest of the child’s safety, the pursuit was immediately terminated.

We need your help locating the vehicle, the driver, and Haley N. Pelot, but our primary concern is locating and assessing the wellbeing of the child.
