Bicyclist injured in crash vs. car | By Sgt Scott Hanson

July 24, 2021 – Town of Jackson, WI -On Saturday July 24, 2021 at 10:08 am the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch center received a 911 call reporting a bicycle vs vehicle crash with serious injuries on Church Road south of Highway 60 in the Town of Jackson.

Jackson Fire Department along with the Jackson Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office were requested to respond to the scene.

Upon arrival of the first rescue personnel Flight for Life was requested to the scene. The bicyclist, a 62-year-old Town of Jackson resident was transported to Froedtert West Bend by ambulance and then to Froedtert Wauwatosa for serious life threatening injuries by LifeNet medical helicopter.

The driver of the motor vehicle, a 28-year-old Town of Jackson resident suffered minor injuries which were treated at the scene.

An initial investigation shows the bicyclist turned southbound on Church Road from Highway 60 and entered into the northbound lane of traffic. The northbound vehicle which was slowing for the stop sign, was then struck by the bicyclist.

The crash remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team. Church Road was closed to traffic for approximately three hours.
