Obituary | Loretta Belle Goecks (nee Francisco), 89

July 22, 2021 – Loretta Belle Goecks (nee Francisco), 89, born on August 17, 1931, and peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, July 18, 2021.

Loretta

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Francisco and Marion Dean, and loving husband Bernard (Bernie), brothers and sisters.  She is survived by her loving sister Carol Rosser.  Loving Mother to stepdaughter JoLynn (David) Taylor, Roger (Mari) Goecks, Brenda (Wayne) Jaszewski, Judy (Chuck Hakala), and David (Patricia).  Devoted Grandmother to Kristin Jaszewski Ott, Stacy Jaszewski, Lauren, Alex (Melissa), Katie, Mitchell and Nicholas Goecks.  Great-grandmother to Andrew, Emily, and Annabelle Ott.  Also survived by many cherished relatives and friends.

Well into her 80’s, Loretta continued to hunt and fish, with her last fishing excursion on the Gulf of Mexico this past April.  She loved to travel with husband Bernie, and especially recalled their many trips to South Dakota, wintering in Gulf Port/Biloxi, as well as a special trip to Costa Rica, where at the age of 77, she went zip-lining.  In addition, she loved frequent visits to family in Door County and Kiel.

Recalling the memories of living on Montello Lake, where she made so many friends, always put a smile on her face.

Loretta never missed watching her beloved Green Bay Packers, and on game days you could always count on her to be wearing one of her lucky Packer shirts.

Every day in summer, she tended to her flower garden and bird feeders.  In winter, she was excited to watch deer just outside her patio door, and when spring arrived, she delighted in watching the new fawns.

In her final years, one of her greatest pleasures was being “Grandma Nana” to her three beautiful great-grandchildren, who would always run into her arms when coming to visit and give hugs and kisses when it was time to leave.

She will be greatly missed by all.

Loretta treasured spending time with family and loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and birding.

Private burial on Thursday, July 22 at Graceland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or any wildlife conservation non-profit.

The family is being served by Zwaska Funeral Home.
