July 7, 2021 – Slinger, WI – My name is Brooke Kiefer of the Slinger FFA Chapter and I am going to give a daily update of what we’re up to at the 92nd annual Wisconsin State FFA Convention in Madison each day.
Slinger FFA has 13 students, 3 chaperones, and 5 guests attending the convention in Madison.
Our week started off bright and early Tuesday morning with Ally Loosen heading off to State Honors Band practice with her trumpet. Below is Loosen performing in 2019 during the Wisconsin FFA Honors Band at the State Convention.
Kaylee Pingel accepted the Pride Membership Award recognizing the growth our chapter has experienced in the last year.
Abby Schmoldt competed in the Employability Skills Leadership Development event, Hope Lockstaedt was recognized for her state winning Veterinary Science Proficiency Award.
Brooke Kiefer was recognized for being a proficiency award winner last year in the area
of Equine Science.
This evening, our two state champion Career Development Event teams were also recognized.
We also had a chance to sit down with Gene Hetebrueg, the Section 10 representative for the Wisconsin State FFA Alumni, and asked him a few questions about his experience so far at the convention.
He is here every day this week registering guests of the convention, like parents, administrators, and sponsors.
His favorite part of the convention is seeing and hearing the success of all the students here. He knows that the future of agriculture is in great hands. The WI FFA Alumni is sponsoring the live stream of the convention.
