On June 19, 2016 at 3:56 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash, with injuries, on CTH K at Shamrock Ln. in the Town of Erin. Sheriff’s Deputies and rescue personnel from the Hartford Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
An on-scene investigation revealed the following: A motorcycle operated by a male driver and female passenger, was northbound on County Highway K approaching Shamrock Lane. When the operator of the motorcycle slowed to initiate a right hand turn on to Shamrock Lane.
A male driver was northbound in an automobile and struck the slowing motorcycle. The impact caused both the motorcycle driver and passenger to be ejected from the motorcycle. Both driver and passenger of the motorcycle suffered serious injury. The male driver was transported from the scene to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life. The female passenger was taken to Summit Hospital via Hartford Rescue Ambulance. The operator of the automobile was not injured.
Cth. K between Donegal Rd. and .5 miles south of Shamrock Ln. was closed for approximately 4 hours to facilitate rescue, investigative, and clean-up efforts. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office Accident reconstruction team responded to investigate the serious injury crash.
At this time, driver impairment and speed do not appear to be contributing factors. However, the accident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
