Anna M. Nigh, 94, of Campbellsport, entered eternal life on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport.
She was born on November 29, 1921, in Kewaskum the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Mueller) Schoofs and on December 27, 1941 she was united in marriage to Sylvester Harter at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Sylvester preceded Anna in death on March 5, 1945. On February 26, 1946 she was united in marriage to Gregor Nigh at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Gregor preceded Anna in death on May 26, 2006.
Anna and Gregor owned and operated Kewaskum Frozen Foods from 1941 until 1979. Anna was a member of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors and Holy Trinity Christian Women. She enjoyed drawing, painting, crocheting, crocheting mittens which she donated to Washington County Volunteers, gardening and especially spending time on the farm. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew her.
Those Anna leaves behind to cherish her memory include two children, Patricia “Pat” (Gerald) Geidel of Campbellsport and Gregor (Leslie) Nigh of Sun Prairie; two sons-in-law, Robert Beisbier and Paul Behring both of Kewaskum; 8 grandchildren, Robert (Kim) Beisbier, Rene (Bill) Brooks, Robin Beisbier, Douglas (Katie) Geidel, Christopher Geidel, Jeremy (Joanne) Geidel, David (Lisa) Nigh, Rebecca (Joseph) Meyers; 16 great-grandchildren, Alison and Joseph Beisbier, Jason (Amber) Ader, Lauren (Zachary) Thede, William, Timothy and Matthew Brooks, Zachary, Madeline, Ella, Lydia, Eli, and Ivan Geidel, Eliana and David Nigh and Anna Meyers; one great-great-grandchild, Annabelle Thede; two brothers, Ralph (Patricia) and Allen (Paula) Schoofs; a sister, Katie Vitrano; a brother-in-law, Francis Volm; a sister-in-law, Bernice Schoofs, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Anna was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Beisbier and Mary Ellen Behring; two infant grandchildren, James and Tricia Behring; two infant great-grandchildren, Justin Beisbier and Amalia Geidel; four brothers, Theodore (Helen) Schoofs, Francis Schoofs, Joseph (Charlotte) Schoofs and E.A. “Dick” (Bea) Schoofs; three sisters, Lucille (Nathan) Nigh, Dorothy Volm and Apollonia (Joe) Retzer and a brother-in-law Anthony Vitrano.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main St. in Kewaskum with Fr. John Brophy officiating.
The Nigh family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the We Believe Campaign of Holy Trinity are appreciated.
The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Anna’s arrangements.
