A 6-year-old girl was pulled from the pool at Regner Park on Saturday and later taken by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
According to West Bend Fire Department Lt. Jeff Gustafson, rescue crews were paged to the south end of the pool at 5:50 p.m.
Lifeguards were administering CPR when emergency crews arrived. The med unit transported the girl to St. Joseph’s Hospital and she was later transferred by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital.
The girl’s condition is unavailable at this time.
The Regner Park Beach opened June 3. Lifeguards are on duty from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
“Those lifeguards did a great job,” said Gustafson.
UPDATE: The Regner Park pool is closed Sunday because of the cool temperatures and Saturday’s emergency situation. The pool will reopen at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13.
