Police in Fond du Lac spent some time early Thursday morning looking for a black bear seen climbing over a fence at Fruth Field.
Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein said officers checked the area, but the bear was gone. Police used night-vision goggles to look for the bear.
The bear was spotted two more times near the Fond du Lac River in the area of Doty and Division Streets and near First Street and Vincent.
Klein said it was a young bear and typically they avoid people.
The DNR said young bears roam in the spring when they are forced out of their mother’s territory.
