On June 8 at 10:55 a.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s responded to a motor vehicle crash on County Highway P at the intersection with County Highway O, in the Township of Ashippun.
Preliminary investigation shows a 2003 GMC was traveling north on CTH P approaching the intersection with CTH O.
At the same time, a 2008 Kia was traveling east on CTH O, approaching the posted stop sign at the intersection with CTH P.
The Kia failed to yield the right of way to the GMC and entered the intersection. The front of the Kia struck the left side of the GMC, causing the GMC to overturn.
The driver of the GMC was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner. The driver and passenger of the Kia, and the passenger in the GMC were all transported to Oconomowoc Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Identification of the drivers and passengers is being withheld pending notification of family members. Names will be released in an updated press release on Thursday.
Assisting at the scene were: Wisconsin State Patrol, Town of Oconomowoc Police, Ashippun Fire and 1st Responders, Dodge County Medical Examiner, Stone Bank EMS, Oconomowoc EMS, Flight for Life helicopter, Dodge County Emergency Response Team.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
