Hartford Police cars get new look | by Steve Volkert

January 29, 2021 – Hartford, WI –Every year, the Hartford Police Department rotates out the two oldest vehicles for two new ones. The new vehicles, which are ordered nearly nine months before delivery, got their new look earlier this month and are now getting outfitted to be out on the road.

The new look uses a little more “Hartford Oriole” orange to show our community pride. The Police Department is testing out a new three year rotation for cars to determine what actual cost savings might be received by keeping cars one more year. While all squad cars may get traded in with a moderate number of miles, the actual engine hours due to excessive idle time is what wears them down.
