Habitat for Humanity of Washington and Dodge Counties will roll out West Bend’s Germanfest tradition this year.
The event, August 25-28, will still have a lot of familiar German characteristics including the location at the corner of S. Fifth Avenue and Walnut Street in downtown West Bend.
West Bend Germanfest will simultaneously dig deep into the authentic German heritage of the region and celebrate the grass-roots quality of the Habitat mission: to bring the community together with the purpose of eradicating substandard housing.
The goal is to raise enough money to build an entire Habitat home. This ethnic and music festival is expected to attract at least 10,000 devoted revelers.
There will be award-winning polka and other bands, an expanded selection of beers, a new wine area, delectable German food and desserts, a Kinderzone for families, lots of Schafskopf, and much, much more.
New this year will be a Thursday, Aug. 25 concert featuring Scotch & Soda from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Chicken Wire Empire 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Rebel Grace 9 p.m. – 11 p.m.
