January 1, 2021 – West Bend, WI – There was some teamwork at Cedar Community on County Highway Z as residents placed luminaries throughout North Village and dedicated it to the hard-working staff at Cedar Community.
“We have been thinking about doing it to honor or in recognition of the amazing persons on staff here at Cedar Community, and all the light they kept shining for us through the difficult and dark times of these past nine months and the ones to still come,” said organizer Judy Koeppl.
Working with Frank and KC Laycock and others in the Village everyone bundled up and armed with lighters, candles and white bags of sand the team placed nearly 300 luminaria to show their appreciation.
“The Christmas Eve luminaries at Cedar Community, (Hwy Z) North Village was a simple idea to lighting the way for Jesus to come,” said Gladys Sachse. “With the pandemic and having to be shut in, each village has come up with a special way to celebrate Christmas. It will be beautiful.”
What a thoughtful thing to do for the “hero’s” of Cedar Community.
What a beautiful idea and so many people were involved in getting this to a reality.
