17 departments respond to restaurant fire in Thiensville

November 9, 2020 – Thiensville, WI – On Sunday afternoon November 8, 2020 the Thiensville Fire Department was responded to 105 S. Main Street at The cheel restaurant, for a report of a building on fire.

With the initial information given, the incident was quickly upgraded to MABAS Box 5-11 to the Box Alarm level, prior to the first unit arriving on scene.

This request brought in additional fire and EMS units from neighboring jurisdictions to assist with the incident.

Upon arrival flames were visible from the exterior of the restaurant. The crews work diligently to extinguish the fire as quickly as possible.

During the incident, the MABAS Box Alarm level was ultimately increased to the 3rd alarm, which brought resources from further away.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

This was a major landmark in the Village for decades, and has been a staple in the area since The Cheel opened. No further information is being released at this time.
