Obit: Willard J. “Bill” Reis, formerly of Hartford, 93

Willard J.” Bill” Reis of Janesville and formerly of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, 3 days after his 93rd birthday party which everyone in the family attended.

He was born on May 23, 1923 in Slinger, Wisconsin to Henry and Marie (nee Boffer) Reis. He was united in marriage to Jeanette K. Walter on July 5, 1944 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. Together they were long time members of St. Kilian Catholic Church.

During World War II Bill proudly served his Country in both the European and Pacific areas.

Bill worked for Chrysler Corporation for 40 years.

Bill is survived by his loving children, William “Bill” (Kay) Reis of Middleton, Jane (Henry) Fronczak of Scottsdale, Arizona,  Mary Rekowski of Janesville, and Michael Reis of Hartford; and six cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Rob Reis, Bridget Lenz, Jared Devitt, Mark Rekowski, Betsy Pelsue; and eight cherished great grandchildren, Tyler, Avery, and Charlie Reis, Shawn and Sam Rekowski, Adeline and Lillian Lenz, and Ashton Pelsue, his dear sisters, Dorothy (James) Algiers of Hartford and Anna (Dale) Ellicson of Menomonee Falls.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Jeanette, a brother Donald and 2 sisters, Lorraine and Helen.

Mass of Christian Burial for Bill will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at St Kilian Catholic Church, (264 State St., Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Kilian, the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Holy Hill (1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus, Wisconsin 53033) or Cedar Crest Retirement Community (1702 S River Rd, Janesville, WI 53546) are appreciated.

Interment in the OLD St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford.
