Obituary | Reid Byron Terry, 65, of Hartford

September 21, 2020 – Hartford, WI – Reid Byron Terry, 65, of Hartford, WI went to his heavenly home on Friday, September 18.

Reid was born the ninth of 10 children to Max & Lillian (Swanson) Terry in Bassett, NE on January 24, 1955. He attended Medicine Valley High School in Curtis, NE, where he was a star basketball player; and the University of Nebraska with Architecture as his major.

From working on his sister’s farm from the age of 8, Reid farmed until he found another love, Mass Appraisal for tax purposes. In 1976 he started working for Cole-Layer-Trumble Company until 1984 when he settled down in Kettering, OH, to marry Kimberly on December 8, 1984, and then proceeded to continue appraisal work and home remodeling with a local company.

Reid then owned his own business, J & J Tile and Painting, and then moved to Hartford, WI in 1992 where he kept his seniority with Cole-Layer-Trumble Company (Tyler Technologies) until his retirement in 2013.

Reid was always involved in the church. He loved his Lord and was not afraid to share his faith or his love of singing. Reid was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. His other favorite sports were the Earnhardts of NASCAR and the North Carolina Panthers.

Reid is survived by his wife Kimberly of 35 years; children: Jeremy Terry (Kitra), Joshua Terry, Mark Harris; granddaughters: Marissa Terry and Megan Manning; sisters: Betty Hasch (Ernie) and Patty Nelson (Roy); brothers: Robert (Sherry); Richard; Ross (Brenda); Ronnie (Layah); Raymond (Debra); and Randy. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max & Lillian Terry; in-laws Curnell & Virginia Stanger; sister, Nancy Terry; grandsons, Brayden and Devin Terry; sister-in-law, Susan Terry; nephew, Brian Hasch; niece: Terisa Nelson; great niece: Sarah Hasch.

Visitation and service for Reid Terry.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at Divine Savior Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 22, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m., with service at 11 a.m. and public committal being held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford, right after the service. Pastor Douglas Stowe is officiating.

Memorials may be given to Divine Savior Lutheran Church, 3200 Hwy. K South, Hartford. Shimon Funeral Home is assisting the family.
