West Bend 7 Up is the 2015 Land O’ Lakes Western Division Champions following an 8-4 win over the Brookfield Bulldogs.
It was a beautiful day for baseball this afternoon in Monches. The West Bend 7 Up fell behind early but showed why they have the top offense in Land O’ Lakes by scoring the final 6 runs of the game.
West Bend got a complete game victory from Tyler Adams (Jackson) on the mound. Billy Bynum (Milwaukee) smacked a pair of 2-run home runs to lead the 7 Up; one of the homers landed in the mill pond over 450-feet away.
Matt Parrent (Kewaskum) also hit a long home run to tie the game at 4-4 in the sixth inning. Bynum and Parrent both ended the day with 3 hits a piece. Both Casey Krohn (West Bend) and Nick Reimer (West Bend) had RBI for 7 Up.
West Bend 7 Up is headed to the Land O’ Lakes Grand Championship tournament as one of the favorites.
7 Up sits at 29-19 on the season and 16-4 in Land O’ Lakes.
They will be either a No. 2 seed or a No. 3 seed heading into the tournament and will host two Grand Championship games next weekend, Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30 at Carl Kuss Field at Regner Park in West Bend.
Times and opponent to be announced Sunday evening.
