Two people from West Bend charged in the death of Austin Owsley, 19, of West Bend

June 11, 2020 – West Bend, WI – Two men from West Bend are facing charges in conncection with the June 3, 2020 death of Austin Owsley, 19, of West Bend.

According to Milwaukee Police Tanzanna Roberts, 20, of West Bend and Kasey Reich, 23, of West Bend were charged in Milwaukee County Court, June 11, 2020.

According to the criminal complaint the incident reportedly began with the alleged theft of $3,000 from a vehicle located at Yahr Park.

There is varied testimony in the criminal complaint regarding the shots fired; or possibly a gun falling out of a vehicle and shots went off when the weapon hit the ground.

Milwaukee Police said three more people were arrested in connection with the incident and those cases are under review at the District Attorney’s office.

Roberts and Reich are facing Class D felony charges of second degree reckless homicide, use of a dangerous weapon, and as a party to a crime. The charges carry a maximum sentence of a $100,000 fine and 25 years in jail or both with a 5-year enhancer for use of a dangerous weapon.
