Obituary | Kevin W. Smith, 43, of Green Bay, formerly of Hartford

May 22, 2020 – Hartford, WI – Kevin W. Smith, 43, of Green Bay, formerly of Hartford, WI, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Wyoming as the result of a trucking accident. He was born October 7, 1976 in Brookfield, WI, son of the late Wilmer and Darlene (Reif) Smith.

Kevin attended Slinger High School and entered into a career as an OTR Truck Driver. He drove truck for over 20 years for several companies, most recently for Jim Piontek Trucking. Kevin loved his work as a truck driver and was able to bring his family along for many of his trucking adventures. He married Kristy Schneeweis, July 30, 1999 in West Bend. Kevin and Kristy celebrated 20 years of marriage and were blessed with three boys.

Kevin is famous for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was tough on the outside, but a lovable teddy bear on the inside.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Kristy; his 3 sons: Tyler, Kein and Madden Smith; 4 siblings: Roger (Patti) Post, Chris Smith, Debbie Smith-Stone and Donna (Kevin) Rydle; father-in-law, Jeff (Betty) Schneeweis; 2 sisters-in-law, Karen Schneeweis and Nicole Oetzel; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings.

A public visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 9 to 11 AM. A PRIVATE family funeral service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for Kevin and Kristy’s kids.
