May 13, 2020 – West Bend, WI – A bit of excitement on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Oak Street in West Bend as squeals from a couple baby raccoons drew the attention of passersby.
A small masked face poked out of a hole in a tree about 10 feet off the ground. The mother raccoon was nowhere in site, however she was seen walking away from the tree over the weekend.
“We used to have a pet raccoon when we were growing up,” said neighbor Peachy Keehn.
West Bend Police were called and after perching a stepladder against the trunk of the tree the officer grabbed a deep plastic bucket and donned some thick gloves.
Four kits were eventually removed from deep in a hole in the tree.
The animals were safely relocated to a nearby woods.
Why in the world are they interfering with these babies? The mother would have been back. They mostly move at night so of course most people wouldn’t see her. They just put a death sentence on these little ones.
WHY DID THEY NEED TO BE RELOCATED?… JUST ANOTHER CASE OF STUPID HUMAN INTERFERECNE WITH NATURE… NOW THE KITS DON’T HAVE A MOTHER… HOW REALLY REALLY STUPID!
