Funeral today for Greg Shaske, 28, of Kohlsville

Gregory J. “Greg” Shaske, 28, of Kohlsville, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Greg was born on December 10, 1987, in West Bend, the son of John and Cindy (Oelhafen) Shaske. On May 17, 2014, he was united in marriage to Rachel Zimdars at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.

Greg was a proud Army veteran serving his country in the Army Honor Guard in Washington DC and in El Paso guarding the borders and the war on drugs. He was a skilled auto mechanic who enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, football and baseball. He was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Greg will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Greg is survived by his wife, Rachel; his parents, John and Cindy Shaske of Kohlsville; a brother, Eric Shaske (Fiancé, Tonya Janssen) of West Bend; a grandfather, Arnold Shaske of Florida; aunts; uncles; cousins; Unity Club Members; other relatives and some faithful friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth Jean Shaske, John and Theresa Oelhafen; two uncles, John and Jim Oelhafen; an aunt Peggy Alander, and his cousin Brenda Oelhafen.

Funeral services for Greg will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum with Rev. Troy Swenson officiating.

Greg’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
