West Bend, WI – The Wisconsin Visual Art Achievement Awards were handed out at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend.
According to MOWA:
The WVAAA is made possible through the generous support of the Museum of Wisconsin Art, all three chapters of the Wisconsin Visual Artists, and Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters.
The Wisconsin Visual Art Achievement Awards honor individual artists and organizations that are “significantly enriching the visual arts of the state.”
Organizations involved in the WVAAA have restructured the focus of the awards in order to “more meaningfully highlight working artists in the state. While the awards originally focused on an individual artist’s contributions over an entire career, the award categories have been broadened to recognize achievement at various stages of an artist’s career and in related professional areas that are often overlooked, such as youth education, community arts advocacy, exhibitions, and arts writing.”
