September 14, 2022 – Washington Co., WI – Kali Restivo’s 8th grade class from Richfield Middle School brought some Raider’s energy to the Ziegler Family Expo Center on Wednesday morning as the class helped United Way of Washington County set up for its afternoon food preparation event.

Students from Richfield Middle School constructed boxes, set up tables and workstations as more than 350 volunteers will gather tonight to put together 60,000 packets of food for neighbors receive assistance through the local United Way.
“We are learning to give back to the community,” said Kali Restivo 8th with Richfield Middle School. “Students found out some people in the community are struggling and need help.”
Aside from the setup, Restivo said students will also be writing thank-you notes to those who volunteer their time with his project. “Hopefully that will all help instill a desire to give back in the community,” she said.
Workplace teams will gather Wednesday afternoon, September 14, 2022 for 1.5-hour food packaging shift.
The food packaged at the event will be distributed to community pantries and programs across Washington County.
