May 18, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Casa Guadalupe Education Center, Inc., will hold its 7th annual Fiesta Latina on Saturday, May 18 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Regner Park’s Pavilion, West Bend. This Latin American Cultural Celebration and Fundraiser for Casa will appeal to all ages.
There will be admission to this community event at Regner Park in West Bend!
All funds raised help the literacy and education programs for the local Hispanic community, as well as build a scholarship fund for Hispanic high school students in the Dream to Succeed Program.
“We’re so excited to host our Fiesta Latina fundraiser again this year,” said Noelle Braun, the Executive Director of Casa Guadalupe. “It is our largest fundraiser of the year, and we love how it brings our growing, diverse community together to celebrate Latin American culture, and also how it brings more awareness to our nonprofit origination and the wonderful and beneficial literacy and education programs we’re providing for the local Latino community. We will be moving our office location this July to a building on St. Mary Immaculate Conception’s property in West Bend, so this will also be a perfect way to continue spreading the word about our big move.”
The day will start with Guillermo Navarro, a professional singer of Mexican folkloric songs. Zumba will then add some fun audience participation. Next will feature a beautiful dance demonstration by dance group, Ballet Folklorico Sones Mexicanos from Chicago. Sandwiched in will be a Jalapeño eating contest with prizes available for the top 3 winners. Then attendees will be able to learn some salsa line dance moves provided by Mike Mattek of Mattek Ballroom Dancing. This will lead into lively Spanish songs performed by Casa Guadalupe’s executive director, Noelle Braun. Get your dancing shoes on, because we will then welcome the Latin band Grupo Masivo Show, followed by the band Los Gigantes de la Música.
Admission and children’s activities and games are free. Latin American food and beverages will be available at vendor booths. Food has been donated by various restaurants and grocery stores,
To close our event, we will draw the winners of our large raffle drawing.
