March 7, 2025 – Hartford, WI – Hartford, WI – At approximately 10:10 a.m. on March 6, 2025, Hartford Fire & Rescue responded to the 600 block of North Main Street for the report of flames coming from the roof of a house.
The first arriving command vehicle found a two-story house with smoke pushing from the roof and soffit, and visible fire on the back side of the house.
Hartford Police Department officers along with the fire command unit rapidly searched the house, removing a female resident from the basement bedroom, removing a dog from the 1st floor living room, and deploying a FST extinguishment device on the second floor.
A rapid attack was initiated by the first arriving fire engine, advancing fire hose to the second floor to begin extinguishing the fire. Additional arriving crews made entry to search all three levels of the home to assure that no other residents were inside. Additional crews worked to vent the building to remove dangerous fire gases, heat, and smoke.
EMS crews provided rehabilitation efforts to the firefighters and provided accountability of units on scene. Two cats were also located in the home and safely removed. The resident who was removed from the house was transported to AMC Hartford Hospital for evaluation and was released shortly after.
No fire rescue personnel were injured in this incident. Occupants were displaced by the fire. Assistance was provided from Hartford Electric & Water Utilities and WE Energies who shut off the electric, water, and gas utilities. Mutual aid assistance was provided through MABAS first at the Working Still level and then elevated to the 1st box level by: Slinger Fire Department, St Lawrence Fire Company, Lifestar Ambulance, Jackson Fire Department, Richfield Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, and Iron Ridge Fire Department.
