A 60-year-old town of Hartford woman was killed in a four-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Washington County.
Authorities said the accident happened at 2:33 p.m. at Highway 60, a tenth of a mile east of Highway M near Country Aire Drive.
Several witnesses are still being interviewed but authorities say the eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck the westbound vehicle. The 60-year-old driver of the westbound vehicle was transported by Flight for Life but later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 21-year-old Village of Jackson man, was taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Two other vehicles were involved. One vehicle continued off the road and struck a parked vehicle on private property and a fourth vehicle took evasive action and went into ditch. Two people in that vehicle were transported by family to the hospital with minor injuries.
Washington County Sheriffs, Ozaukee County Sheriffs, Village of Jackson Police were all on scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Washington County accident reconstruction unit.
Highway 60, which had been closed during the accident, reopened at 9:10 p.m.
