Kewaskum, WI – The 4th annual Don and Corrine Mlodzik Family Scholarship will be awarded to Emilia Lang, a soon to be 2023 graduate of Kewaskum High School. Emilia is the daughter of Shelly and Brian Lang.
According to KHS counselor Rebecca Bryant, “It is clear in all of Emilia’s interactions that she is passionate about caring for and helping others. Emilia is someone you can count on, she is resilient, and she always puts others first. If I had to sum her up in three words, I would say Emilia is ambitious, dedicated, and compassionate.”

Emilia’s heart shines through her words when asked why she wants to be a nurse.
“Realizing how easy it was for me to put myself into a patient’s shoes, understand circumstances from their point of view, and provide compassionate care confirmed that nursing was a perfect fit for me. Nothing compares to the emotions I feel when a resident tells me how thankful they are after I tuck them into bed. Or having the residents trust me enough to share their stories and memories with me. Working in healthcare early in my life has allowed me to develop a passion for helping others through trying times. Seeing the impact, I can have on someone when I help them with something so little makes me eager to impact more families.”
Community service and volunteerism is a big factor in the selection process for this scholarship. Emilia is involved with Key Club, Kewaskum Youth Scholarships, Youth Sports and was a founding member of HOSA, the student healthcare club at Kewaskum High School. Emilia also volunteers at Kettle Moraine Gardens Assisted Living Center as well as Holy Trinity church and school.
The Mlodzik family offers their congratulations to Emilia and wishes her well on her educational and career journeys. We are convinced Emilia will enhance lives and give comfort through her chosen profession which in turn will bless her own life.
About the Don & Corrine Mlodzik Family Scholarship:
The Don and Corrine Mlodzik Family Scholarship was created to help Kewaskum High School graduates interested in attending Moraine Park Technical College in West Bend. Don and Corrine always believed MPTC offered a great value in education while providing hands on experience in many programs which lead directly to employment. The recipient of the scholarship is required to complete 40 hours of volunteer work within the Village of Kewaskum per award year. This aspect of the scholarship is designed to stress the importance of giving back to the community.
