Woman dies from injuries following 2-vehicle crash in Town of Kewaskum | Sgt. Brad Rodich

May 23, 2024 – Town of Kewaskum, WI – An update on a story from Monday, May 20, 2024, regarding a 2-vehicle crash in the Town of Kewaskum.

On Thursday 05-23-2024, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the 93-year-old female from the Town of Farmington who was critically injured in the Monday, May 20 motor vehicle accident at Highway 45 and CTH Hwy H/Badger Road had succumbed to her injuries in a medical facility.

This fatality is Washington County’s second traffic-related fatality for 2024. No further information is being released at this time.

May 20, 2024 – Town of Kewaskum, WI – On Monday, May 20, 2024, at 5:04 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 45 and CTH H/Badger Road in the Town of Kewaskum.

Callers informed our communications center that there were people walking around outside of the vehicles, but there was an elderly female passenger in one of the vehicles who was unconscious.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office and Kewaskum Fire/Rescue were dispatched to the scene, and assistance was requested from the Kewaskum Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol on scene.

After the arrival of emergency personnel on scene, West Bend Fire Intercept was requested to respond as well.

The initial investigation indicated a 64-year-old Town of Farmington resident was operating southbound on US 45 with a 93-year-old Town of Farmington resident as the front seat passenger and was making a left turn to travel eastbound on CTH H.

There was a northbound vehicle on US 45 operated by a 69-year-old Campbellsport area resident.  The two vehicles struck in the intersection of US 45 and CTH H/Badger Road.

The passenger of the southbound vehicle was transported to Froedtert Wauwatosa by Kewaskum rescue with serious injuries.

The driver of the southbound vehicle later received treatment at Froedtert Wauwatosa for non-life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the northbound vehicle was transported to Froedtert West Bend by Kewaskum Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Slinger Police Department assisted Sheriff’s Office Deputies with the crash investigation at Froedtert West Bend.

Traffic was diverted from the area for an extended period while the Washington County Accident Reconstruction Team was on scene to assist with the investigation.

The accident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and no additional information is available currently.
