July 30, 2024 – Washington Co., WI – Monday evening, July 29, 2024, around 11 p.m. Â the West Bend Police Department engaged in a pursuit of a vehicle involved in retail theft.
The vehicle, which fled northbound on US 45 and then westbound on Badger Rd and southbound on Kettleview Drive, eventually crashed into a guardrail and came to a stop in a yard on Edelweiss Land in the Town of Barton.
After the crash, the female passenger was arrested by West Bend Police, while the driver fled on foot.
Deputies and an agency drone conducted a search for the driver, who had reportedly stopped at several homes in an attempt to either enter the homes or attract the attention of the occupants.
The suspect, identified as a 21-year-old male from Milwaukee, was safely apprehended by a Kewaskum Police Department officer around 12:16 a.m. at Ridge Road and Kettleview Drive.
The Sheriff’s Office confirms the suspect is now in custody and no longer poses a danger to the public.
