November 3, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – On November 2 at 9: 44 p.m. a Fond du Lac County deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speed violation on CTH G near CTH SS in the Township of Auburn, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.
The Deputy activated his emergency lights and siren to stop the vehicle and the suspect’s vehicle increased its speeds and turned off their headlights in an attempt to elude law enforcement.
The deputy pursued the vehicle southbound on CTH G and then southbound on Youth Camp Road. The vehicle approached the intersection of Youth Camp Road and CTH S and the driver was unable to control the vehicle causing the vehicle to crash at the intersection into a cemetery.
Both the driver and the passenger were taken into custody at the conclusion of the crash with no incident.
Due to the crash, Kewaskum Fire Department and Ambulance responded to the scene to evaluate the subjects for possible injuries as a precautionary measure. Once both parties were cleared by EMS personal they were turned back over to deputies’ custody.
The driver was an 18-year-old male from Waukesha. He is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on new charges of Felony Fleeing/Eluding.
The suspect’s vehicle received significant damage from the crash and there was property damage to multiple headstones inthe cemetery that the vehicle crashed into. No squad cars or other vehicles were damaged as a result from the pursuit.
Assisting at the scene was Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol. The pursuit lasted approximately 4.5 miles.
