Slinger apartment evacuated because of fire | By Lt. Joseph Cashin

February 20, 2021 – Slinger, WI – At 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, the Slinger Police Department and Slinger Fire Department were dispatched to the 200 block of Slinger Road for an apartment fire.

Upon arrival of Slinger Police Department officers, an apartment unit was found to be on fire.

Officers observed heavy smoke and flames coming from inside the unit. Officers acted quickly and evacuated tenants from the building.

The fire was contained to a single unoccupied unit. There were no injuries to occupants of the building, officers or fire / rescue personnel.

The Slinger Fire Department with assistance from the Hartford Fire Department , Jackson Fire Department St. Lawrence Fire Department and LifeStar Rescue were able to bring the fire under control quickly. The Washington county Sheriff’s Department also assisted.

The fire is under investigation by the Slinger Police Department but does not appear to be suspicious in nature at this time.
