July 19, 2022 – Ten fire departments were called Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 8:33 a.m. to a garage fire at 4837 Mueller Lane in the Town of Polk, WI.
According to Washington County Sheriff’s Sergeant Scott Hanson the homeowner reported that a vehicle in the garage was on fire and spreading to the structure.
The Slinger Fire Department was paged and quickly upgraded the structure fire to a working still level and later upgraded to the box level.
The following Fire Departments responded to assist: Hartford Fire and Rescue, West Bend Fire, Allenton Fire, St. Lawrence Fire, Jackson Fire, Kohlsville Fire, Richfield Fire, and Lifestar Rescue. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded and upon arrival of the first deputy, the residents had evacuated, and the fire was spreading from the garage to the residence.
Upon arrival of the Slinger Fire Department the structure fire was quickly brought under control, containing the fire to the garage and exterior of the residence.
The residential portion suffered smoke damage but remained intact. Mueller Lane was closed for approximately two hours to assist in firefighting efforts.
There were no reported injuries to fire personnel as a result of the fire. There is no damage estimate at this time.
Fire crews cleared the scene around noon.
