December 22, 2024 – Dodge Co., Wi – A Dodge County Sheriff’s Deputy pursued and arrested the driver of a vehicle for fleeing an officer, multiple arrest warrants, and a criminal driver’s license violation, after an attempt to investigate if the vehicle was displaying registration.
Around 8:30 am on Sunday, December 22, 2024, a deputy on patrol noticed a vehicle on S. Madison Street in the town of Beaver Dam which was not displaying a front registration plate, and after meeting the vehicle, noticed there was also not a rear plate displayed.
The deputy turned around to investigate further and determine if a temporary plate was displayed, but the vehicle immediately accelerated away. The suspect car entered US Highway (USH) 151 southbound, and accelerated to speeds in excess of 100 mph.
The deputy pursued the vehicle, which maintained speeds in excess of 90 and 100 mph for over 16 miles. Assistance from Columbia County Sheriff’s Office/Columbus Police, as well as Dane County Sheriff’s Office, was requested and a Columbus Police Officer was able to deploy a tire deflation device, which slowly deflated the right front tire of the car.
The car gradually slowed and came to a stop in Dane County, near the interchange of USH 151 and County Highway V. The driver was the only occupant of the car and he was taken into custody.
Isaiah Usher, 31 from Madison, WI, was brought to jail and charges will be requested to the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office a felony charge of fleeing an officer, and a misdemeanor charge of operating after revocation. He was also arrested for three outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office appreciated the assistance from our partners in Columbia and Dane Counties, as well as the Columbus Police Department.
