1 person injured in ATV crash in Town of Hartford | By Sgt Alexander Herriges

September 14, 2024 – Town of Hartford- On Friday, September 13, 2024, at 8:53 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a crash involving an All-Terrain Vehicle at the intersection of Arthur Road and CTH U in the Town of Hartford.

The crash was reported by a passerby. Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with rescue personnel from the Hartford Fire Department.

Rescue personnel arrived on scene prior to deputies and had immediately begun life-saving measures on the ATV operator.

A single ATV was located upright in the ditch on the northeast corner of the intersection. There was nothing located on scene that indicated the involvement of another vehicle.

The lone occupant of the ATV, a 46-year-old Town of Hartford man, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to Aurora Medical Center Summit by Flight for Life. He was in stable condition at the time of this release.

A section of Arthur Road east of CTH U was closed for approximately one-and-a-half hours during the investigation.

The crash was unwitnessed, and the cause is still under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
