1 man in custody following Sunday pursuit in Dodge Co. | By Dodge Co. Sheriff

December 23, 2024 – Dodge Co., WI -At 6:50 p.m. on December 22, 2024, a Dodge County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle traveling 21-miles-per-hour over the speed limit on State Highway 33 near Piece Road.

The driver fled from the deputy, driving to his home and running inside, failing to comply with the deputy’s legal order to stop.

The driver, later identified as Christoper Leu, 57, of Iron Ridge, did come back out of the house and then complied with law enforcement.  He was taken into custody and transported to the Dodge County Jail.

Christopher Leu was booked into the jail and charges of Knowingly Flee an Officer and Resisting/Obstructing an Officer will be requested of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.  Of course, all persons are innocent until proven guilty in court.

This is the second pursuit that occurred in Dodge County on Sunday and the actions of Christopher Leu put not only his own life and the life of the deputy at risk but also the lives of other motorists on the roadway.  Once again, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind people that stopping for law enforcement is always the best option.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office will always work to hold people accountable for failing to stop as was evidenced by yesterday’s two arrests.  The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has a zero-tolerance policy when people choose to commit the felony offense of knowingly fleeing an officer. We will take the appropriate action to ensure all persons who choose to commit this violation of the law are held responsible for that decision.
