1 man in custody following pursuit in Fond du Lac Co. | By Sgt. Victor Schneider

February 22, 2025 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – On February 21 at approximately 8:33 p.m. a Fond du Lac County Deputy was provided information that a vehicle had just traveled down to the Milwaukee area to pick up illegal substances and was heading back northbound.

The Deputy observed the vehicle on I41 near Church Road. As the Deputy began following the suspect vehicle exited into the City of Fond du Lac.

The suspect vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and the Deputy activated his emergency lights/sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle for the traffic violation. The suspect vehicle increased its speed and a pursuit was initiated.

 

The suspect vehicle travelled southbound on Hickory Street then northbound on Rolling Meadows Drive.

A Deputy positioned at Rolling Meadows and Johnson successfully deployed tire deflation devices on the suspect vehicle, which then turned northbound on I41. A tire deflation device was also successfully deployed at I41 and Winnebago Street.

 

The pursuit continued northbound until the suspect vehicle exited at Highway 26 in Winnebago County. The suspect vehicle turned eastbound on CTH N for a short time before turning southbound on Old Knapp Road.

At this time a Fond du Lac County Deputy performed a Pursuit Intervention Technique (P.I.T.) in an effort to end the pursuit. The PIT was successful,causing the suspect vehicle to become disabled in the ditch. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.

 

The driver is a 43-year-old Wild Rose man. He is currently being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on felony charges of fleeing/eluding and second degree recklessly endangering safety.

 

Assisting with the pursuit was State Patrol. The pursuit lasted approximately 18 miles.
