Washington County Insider got a sneak peek of the new Polanco Mexican Restaurant & Cantina which opened in the Dove Plaza in Slinger.
Owner Tony Herrera has 25 years in the restaurant industry, including at Johnny Manhattan’s. This is his first time he’s going out on his own.
The restaurant has tremendous Mexican flare with colorful tablecloths and brilliant green, white, red and yellow festive decorations which are complimented by black-and-white photos of Mexican culture, people and places.
The medium-priced menu features a traditional selection of fajitas, enchaladas, tostadas and even a chicken tortilla soup.
Early reviews of the restaurant include a post by Sue Kempfer-weeks who raved about Polanco, “Fantastic. Great chips and salsa, comfortable and very welcoming. Nice bar area and everyone very kind and friendly. Nachos are a must and the fajita’s were like no other. Can not wait to go back.”
And Clint Kempfer said he tried the fajita and it was “amazing.”
“They were the best I have ever had. Staff was great, and restaurant had great decor, will definatly be back.”
Is there a menu online?
I have a copy of the menu – but it’s difficult to read online. Let me work on it Kim. Thanks for reaching out. Judy
Kim & Judy,
Actually, I’ve learned there are 2 menus, a Lunch menu & a Dinner menu. Plus a Carry Out menus is coming soon. I agree the menus don’t photograph well. I’m hoping this can be resolved.
