Obituary | Eloyse Rose Asmus, 92

May 1, 2019 – Washington Co., WI – Eloyse Rose Asmus (Fruechte), 92, passed away April 26, 2019, Green Lea Manor, Mabel, MN, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Obituary | Eloyse Rose Asmus, 82

Eloyse was born January 17, 1927 in Caledonia, MN. to Edwin and Ella Fruechte (Bunge). She was baptized and she confirmed her faith at St. Luke’s Church in Eitzen, MN. Growing up on the farm, Eloyse was very involved in all aspects of the farm. On June 10, 1950, Eloyse was united in marriage to Raymond Asmus. They made their home in West Bend, WI for 62 years until Ray passed away in 2012. Eloyse and Ray were parents of two sons, Terry and Randy.

Eloyse was an excellent seamstress and did alterations for several stores in West Bend. She then started another career in food service at the local high school. Eloyse enjoyed flower gardening and she and Ray received the West Bend Mayor’s Home Beautification Award for two consecutive years.

She is survived by four brothers, Arnold (Liz), Vernon (Naomi), and Lawrence (Judy), all of Caledonia, MN, and Neil (Sharon) of Waseca, MN; one sister, Muriel (Glen) Schroeder of Caledonia, MN; sister in law, Shirley Weston of West Bend; and several nieces and nephews. Eloyse was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; and sons, Terry and Randy.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, 518 W. Main St., Caledonia, MN.

Visitation will continue in West Bend, WI on Monday, May 6, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 809 S. Sixth Avenue, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Funeral service on Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Burial will be at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Funeral Home and Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Caledonia Chapel are assisting the family with arrangements.
