Barton, WI – After Hank received his tee time and caddie assignment, he had time to practice and check out the course. He had high hopes for his caddie’s insight and knowledge of the landscape and the different holes.
While practicing, Hank thought how peaceful the course was, and how it fit into the natural surroundings.
He was curious what kind of grass was used on the fairway as it was so firm that the ball would roll easily and you could even use a putter farther from the green.
Every so often while practicing, a ground squirrel would pop out to check out his shot.
After practice, Hank had time to walk around and discovered the course had a lodge and cottages built around it.
He loved the style of the lodge; it was as if the builder had walked around gathering field stone from the property in order to build it.
