70% off at Sonny’s Party & Variety in Slinger. Try to find the oldest items in stock. What did you find?

Jan. 5, 2017 – Slinger, WI – Wandered around Sonny’s Party & Variety store in Slinger the other day looking for things I couldn’t live without.

Sonny’s is going out of business.

Right now he’s giving 70% off everything in the store. Sonny is busy moving and removing shelving and peg board; some of that you can just take for free to get it off his plate.

During the move I must have walked past Sonny a dozen times. “Have you found anything between the walls or shelves that’s from when you first started,” I asked.

Sonny smiled and said if he did, he’d give me a call.

On that note, I began really exploring the shelves – trying to find items that hearken back to when the store opened in 1974.

The sucker mold and groovy laminated posters were two of the items. The Memory Lane refill pages are pretty dated and it looked the the Texas Hold ‘Em travel Poker set was pretty old school.

How about you? What relics are you finding at Sonny’s?

In true five & dime store fashion, here is the ad Sonny gave me to run. He’s like a carnival barker for retail.

Starting today take 70% off retail on everything! “This is your last chance to stock up on items you’ll need soon anyhow,” said Sonny about his big Retirement-going-out-of-business sale.

Packers, birthday, retirement, baby, wedding, anniversary, Hawaiian vacation, Over the Hill, party supplies, cake pans, candy molds, balloons, and the list goes on.

A whopping 70% off everything.

Get in today before it’s all gone. Bargains galore at Sonny’s Party store on Highway 175 in the Village Square Shopping Center in Slinger.

Free peg board and scrap wood. Weekday hours 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
